Sydney Guitar Festival new record
Last Sunday (Aug 12, 2018), 457 guitarists participated in the annual Sydney Guitar Festival electric guitar concert, setting a world record for the same piece of music with an electric guitar.

On the afternoon of the same day, 457 people gathered in Chatswood, Sydney to perform the classic repertoire of the AC/DC band (Australian rock band).

These guitars are connected to a small box of amplifiers powered by a mini Marshall battery.

Tatiana Marchant, organizer of the Sydney Guitar Festival, told ANZ: "They are miniature amplifiers, but they make a sound." She also said: "The atmosphere is very good, I have never seen so many people together. Playing so many guitars."

Participants are required to pay an entry fee of $45, and all the money raised is donated to the Australian Children's Music Foundation.

Most guitarists are male, but many women and children have participated in the event.

The Sydney Guitar Festival will last until August 19.

Previously, India was the world record holder for electric guitar ensembles. In 2013, 368 guitarists participated in the electric guitar ensemble held in India.

Guinness World Records officials' verification of Sydney's new record may take six weeks.
